Ravichandran Ashwin Becomes Fastest Indian To 400 Test Wickets

In the ongoing Test match in Ahmedabad, Ashwin has made the England batsmen dance to the tune of his spin. Ashwin has taken three wickets in the first innings and now taking the third wicket in the second innings, Ashwin got his 400th test wicket. Ashwin has taken 400 wickets in 21,242 balls.

Ashwin reached the milestone by taking the wicket of Jofra Archer in the second innings of the third Test. He is the 17th Indian bowler to reach the 400-wicket mark and the fourth. Earlier, Indian bowlers Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh set the record. Ashwin, who made his Test debut in 2011, has crossed the 400-wicket mark in his 77th Test.

By taking 400 wickets, Ashwin has set many records in his name. Ashwin is the second fastest to take 400 wickets. Ashwin has taken 400 wickets in 77 innings. Sri Lankan spinner Muralitharan has done this in 72 innings. R. Hadley and Dale Steyn have taken 400 wickets in 80 Tests. Rangana Herath has done this feat in the 84th Test.

Four Indian bowlers have managed to take 400 wickets. After India, two bowlers each from Australia, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the West Indies have taken 400 or more wickets. One bowler each from Pakistan and New Zealand has taken 400 wickets.
